1. A little statement about French people #1

I have to say something, now that I came back in Switzerland, I have to say something about the French people. From 2007 to 2009, I lived in Paris, Cité des Arts and, at times it was very amazing for me to listen to them.

French people are always speaking about France, General de Gaulle (and mainly “gaullisme”), revolution and some other old stuffs like that. They seem to be very proud of their country and, I have to confess, I don’t actually understand why… Cause you have to admit it now: France is not very ok. Before I lived in Paris, I believed that it was a pretty modern city where everything is possible and where you can find anything you want. But it is not true. To get a simple phone connection, you have to wait for a long time (several weeks) and it is not sure that you will receive the good one. For example, I got the line of a guy whose name was Carlos and all-day I had to explain this misunderstanding to his friends who called me instead him.

It is the same for administrations, post offices, banks, musems, etc. You always have to wait during hours to get something, like in a communist state. And everybody agrees to wait. So when they are speaking about revolution, i can’t help but laugh inwardly.
